"The Oregon House approved a bill Thursday that would remove legal protection for parents who choose faith healing over medical intervention when treating their children.

The bill passed unanimously, though two Republican representatives raised concerns that the legislation was taking the issue away from juries and sending the state down a slippery slope."

this is not faith, this is idiocy. Compare it to the following scenario, with the premise that God exists:
a religious man is on an island with a volcanic mountain. The volcanic mountain starts to erupt, and the religious man prays to God for help. Finally, after many hours of fear and waiting for something, a helicopter appears, draws near, and the men inside it say to the religious man: "we've come to rescue you, come!" but the religious man answers: "no, I'll wait for a miracle!". When it might have been possible that God's involvement caused the people of the helicopter to find him. But you know, people want fancy miracles...

The idea is: Whether God exists or not and whether one believes that God exists or not, a man should do all it's possible, rather than waiting for fancy miracles (which people want for entertainment, anyway).
