You know how bad you have to be to get rejected by an art academy? Like, fingerpaintingly bad. And he managed it twice. So yeah, a career in politics was pretty much inevitable after that.

He wasn't that bad. Just boring and lifeless. That's what the acedemy commission said. Lifeless pretty much fits the bill of someone having no empathy.

That's one of his pieces. My hometown, actually.

Actually, that is pretty bad.  if all you can draw are lifeless buildings, you should know how to do perspectives right. I doubt this painting would sell at a garage sale.
