And of course, the moment you actually define what characteristics make your "greatest possible being" great, it becomes possible to surpass it merely by proposing a being functionally identical, but capable of eating the first being. That's sort of the problem with what Chad's asking: "greatness" has no upper bound, and the characteristics associated with that concept are highly subjective anyway. It's essentially a meaningless criterion, and so I suppose it's an entirely appropriate one to attach to a god, in some respects.
