Greetings everybody. I'm an atheist guy with no atheist friends. Joined to hopefully chat with some like-minded people. I'm confronted by what I consider to be gross violations of my personal freedom on a daily basis. Our local town has a plague of preachers with loud speakers - the council actually grant them licenses to do so. It would be amusing to see their reaction if I demanded a license to lecture Darwin in a nearby spot.
I'm from Wales UK, and here most people don't seem concerned with the superstitious nonsense that gets peddled on the streets. What I find most disturbing, is the local councils ability to license schools to spoon feed it to children. That's right, I'm talking about religious themed assemblies. Its true that you may choose to exclude your children from participation, but in my area that would be SOLITARY EXCLUSION - as there are no other parents who have yet chosen to do so. These schools are also supposed to be non-religious ones, and yet still this unproductive system remains in hundreds of schools across the UK.
