I agree, that just because a woman doesn't feel oppressed, it doesn't mean she has come to that opinion fairly. Being constantly put in your place (below men, and to obey) is bound to lower your own expectations.
So the solution is to try and educate people not to treat people that way in the first place, to hopefully improve future generations.
Sadly this means ignoring much of the Quran, but Christians have managed to ignore the bible very efficiently.
