They asked if there was need for hadcuffs even. No need so I just took a cruise to the station. There, after alot of redtape, spent the night at their hotel ( I saw worse in payed hotels) they even give me a ride to the train station. I was restrained earlier, because alot of drugs and a friend OD'd in front of me, nothing like I see in American cop shows.
With all due respect, LastPoet, you have not seen the real "justice system" in America, then. There are some places where it's well done, and people are treated with respect. I'm unfamiliar with any of them, but I've seen them in books. But I did 9 years in the system, the first 2.5 of which were in jail torture isolation cells in the mental wing, in an attempt to break my spirit and get me to give them information they wanted, which they thought (incorrectly) that I had.
I have nothing against cops, per se, but to suggest that any fleabag motel on this planet is inferior to the hell-holes in which they stuck me, full of indescribable (or, at least, I refuse to) horrors and conditions that would make your skin crawl to witness is simply so misguided I lack the words to express how badly that's off the mark of what 99% of people experience, especially people they (the powers) dislike.
I don't know about US justice, TRS. I speak from my knowledge about portuguese cops, that is all. I admit my ignorance about US cops.
