It sounds nice on paper, but despite what some may believe, even Saudi Arabia and Iran have elections, so does China.
Our system is messy, hardly perfect, I agree. But even the voters have to have a check on them as well. A pure vote is not a good thing. In the west, governments have put in place ways for minorities to protect themselves from being overrun by the majority, including majority voters. The SCOTUS on gay marriage proved that the majority doesn't always get what they want.
The problem is not our system itself, it is the current plutocracy which has rigged it. Believe me if if those number were flipped and Bernie was winning instead, his followers would be telling Hillary's followers to stop dragging it out too.
And we are seeing a much worse case with the GOP, and the funny thing is most Dems are cheering for a brokered convention and I DO want Ted to stay in as long as possible to damage Drumpf as much as possible before the general.
But, still, I agree, as much as I wanted Bernie to win, on our side at least, it may be far better that he get out and put his support behind Hillary. He can still be a voice aimed at the entire party up to the election and even after the election.
He'd make a great VP too.
