Any of these fall into "ideal" for me. I'm not hugely picky with facial hair, I just like there to be something (anything) there, but not too much. I've spoilered because there's a few pics.
I like when guys neatly edge up their stubble like this;
This is probably the absolute maximum I'd find attractive;
