But you forget something about Saerules... she does not follow the commands of the player character all the time. And if you don't ask 'please' enough (or sincerely enough), she might even pretend she didn't hear you.
Ultimately, you'd have to cast her as a freedom fighter for an opposing force (though she'd probably leave them too)... or as a queen which gives the player character orders
