Hiya!
Yorkshire calling. Ex RN, police, Catholic, JW, Anglican chorister, participator of many demanding interests, sort of been there, done that.
I enjoy debate and used to belong to Debate Unlimited (in the UK) hosted by a nice bloke called Martin Willett. Can't trace it now. Long time ago, though.
Can't stand fuckwits, weak tea, animal abusers, child/domestic abusers, soggy Yorkshire puddings, bleaters (not sheep, that's another issue), ego-centrists (inc. gods/celebs), those willing to be offended (and offended on behalf of others), warm beer, etc.
On the contrary, thumbs up to the likes of George Carlin, pickled eggs, cloudscapes and nature, Yanks that 'get' Brit humour, dogs, Aussie bar jokes, exquisite choral music, horses, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Fry, inquisitiveness and exploration, human love.
Being from Yorkshire (God's own country), I'm obviously right about everything... No... don't go there; it's a joke. Just kidding. GFY.
The big thing I learned from DU is that flowery prose is usually proffered by one without an argument, and that 'losing' an argument doesn't mean that you were wrong, only that your opponent used better flowery language...
Cheers, peeps!
