Atheists and Retards

I was just wondering, about the atheist opinion on retards.

From what I have heard, atheists do not care for retards or people with disabilities generally.

I know this because many of the babies in the wombs of non-believing women end up being aborted just for being retarded. Why do you think you see so few mongoloids anymore? Its because doctors can now take a picture of a womans womb and know if the baby is a mongoloid or not. If it is, it sadly ends up getting chopped up .

I don't understand that impulse. I believe everyone is worthy of love and affection even if they are different.

What do you think about retards and are they worthwhile people?

I haven't heard that all Christians are trolls, but on gay, liberal, and atheist sites, I've noticed a tendency. You didn't come to ask, you came to accuse. I suggest you look at the Christian population.

So obviously atheists are not the only parents in the U.S. aborting after screening.

That said, the conclusion that atheist are less likely to care for born mentally retarded or otherwise handicapped people does not follow from your premise, even if it were true. The most secular states in the country provide the best care for the mentally disabled. I would be happy to discuss the ethics of aborting fetuses with indicators for Downs syndrome, but only if you are willing to admit that it is practiced by Christians as well as atheists, and that there is no indication whatsoever that atheists treat living mentally retarded people worse than Christians do.
