While "Poe's Law" is always in effect, I'm pretty sure this one is the real deal. The mimicry of the Christian programmed-thinking language is too perfect.
Im not a Roman Catholic. I am a Christian and I only believe in the Bible. Not Popes, not Mary, not praying to the dead or "Earning your way to heaven." We are saved by Jesus' love and nothing else.
Still Roman Catholics have something of the spirit of Christ with them. That Pope of theirs seems like a nice guy!
Im talking about my own life. When things get tough, I tend to focus on God more. Thats all.
Then your focus is misplaced. You should be focusing on the things making life tough so you can combat them or work your way around them.
As to your OP, atheists do not have any agreed upon position on any subject outside the existence of gods.
Personally, I think screening for genetic abnormalities is a fucking fantastic thing. It give the parents plenty of advance notice if their child is going to have special needs and/or time to decide to end the pregnancy if they feel they are unable to deal with those needs or if the suffering of the child will be too great.
On your comment about suffering: Most people understand that pain and suffering are part of life and accept it. What I (and many of the atheists here) take umbrage at is not pain and suffering, but the level of unnecessary pain and suffering in a world that asshats like you claim was created by an omniscient, omnipotent being.
As long as birth control is less than 100% effective and debilitating genetic conditions are a threat, abortion will continue to be a necessary evil.
You on the other hand, have no right telling others what they can and can't do. Get over yourself.
