I'd do a lot of things that would be considered wrong if someone threatened a loved one. That's why they refer to that as "too close to the situation". That doesn't really effect right or wrong.
And yet... it's easy to stand from a distance and proclaim your idea of what's right and wrong for someone else's loved one when the potentially horrific consequences would be to someone else's life instead of your own.
