Even if he was attempting to protect the boy from the screaming humans, he might have hurt or killed him accidentally. The zoo keepers really made the right call, all things considered. I just find it terribly sad that call needed to be made at all.(June 1, 2016 at 1:59 pm)IATIA Wrote: I finally got around to watching the video. The gorilla does not seem to intend any harm to the child. It seems to be treating him like a 'child' gorilla. I think if it intended harm, the harm would have already been in progress and obvious.
Yet it can come unintentionally. They're incredibly strong. I saw a silverback drag some full grown idiot tourist, getting too close to his family, like a puppet. Dropped him after a few yards, but if he intended he could have bashed his head in with hardly any effort.
By the way, these are also incredibly intelligent beings. A few of them have been taught sign language and what they have to say speaks of a high environmental awareness.
As I said, I blame the parents. If you take your little idiots to the zoo, act accordingly and keep both eyes out for them. My parents always did, as I said earlier. There's no way in hell that kid could make it through all the barriers without any chance to stop him.
