As far as I know 12.5 mcg is the lowest dose patch available, and I've actually heard of folks successfully self-administering a partial dose of that. Again, non-gel only.
You're not bound by the standards of practice in a clinical setting. The timeline can be adjusted to address your needs/requirements as an individual, but you need suitable patches for weaning, regardless.
