Maybe only 10 children die in an elementary school.
Not to be pedantic, but I doubt accuracy had very much to do with the death toll at all. An AR-15 firing 5.56 has a hell of a lot of penetrating power due to high muzzle velocity (as I'm sure you know from your own military experience). In a crowded club, each round would be more likely to inflict wounds on more than one person, even though the round tumbles randomly after impact. There are so many people in the area that it'd be hard to avoid second woundings.
That's not to say I don't support restrictions on magazine capacity. There's no reason any AR-15 owner -- even those using them for predator control on ranches, say -- needs a 30-shot magazine; and yes, having to drop and reload give everyone in the area a second or two of time to react without a bullet flying. More to the point, restricting magazine size is not restricting the right to own a weapon, so protests from the NRA about such proposals are horseshit.
