Laws in place to ban all drugs including alcohol too. If we could just get murder banned then we wouldn't have to even worry about the guns and peoples freedoms to defend themselves in any way they see fit right? Laws don't stop a damn thing is why that all seems absurd. Why is it that so called assault rifles are used in less than 5% of murders but that's what all the anti-gun propaganda is about? Shouldn't you be more worried about handguns? More people are killed with knives and falling in the bathtub than with "assault rifles" each year. BTW good luck getting all of them off the streets. One gun shop in Georgia in the last week sold 15,000 AR's. And I would wager, none of them will ever kill a human. Stop letting our illegitimate government frighten you so easily. They're trying to disarm you.
That is fucking absurd, "Laws don't stop a damned thing". Not entirely no, of course not. But they are a social contract, and without them you'd either end up with a dictator like Un, or a warlord society like Somalia. Speed limits don't stop speeding either, so why do we still have them?
It is not anti-gun like the paranoid gun nuts think it is. Liberals own gun too, and there is no political party oath litmus test to own one. Bans on certain types or big clips is not saying take away every single weapon. That is a bullshit slippery slope on par with theists saying, "If gay marriage exists, next thing will be making child molesting legal".
It is the same as saying, you can have a car you just cant drive a 5 lane wide monster truck on a public highway. Just like you can have a car, but you cant speed 100mph in a school zone.
And who the fuck says we shouldn't worry about handguns too, yes we should. Because handguns have been used in suicides and accidental and domestic murder, which actually is the majority of gun death.
Other bad shit happens so do nothing? Nope, sorry, not going to work.
You have been brainwashed into equating "regulation" to "all out ban". Those mean two completely different things.
