Anyone else live in Arizona and tired of the political culture

Anyone else live in Arizona and tired of the political culture
Someone told me that everyone in Arizona should have a gun, because we are a gun culture in AZ. However, I grew up here and never once have heard of such a thing. This just bothers me that some people like to pretend it is the Old West.

AZ is your typical republicunt-run state.  The republicunts are in total control, nothing fucking works, the governor sells out to corporate scumbags every day, and the assholes who live here blame the DEMOCRATS.

This, sadly, is why I think old white people are beyond hope.  The mere sight of a Mexican scares them shitless..... which is a problem when it is the Mexican who is emptying their bedpan in the nursing home!

Hey, I'm an old white person, piss off.

Look, growing up in the sticks of Nebraska, guns had two purposes, food and protection from wildlife. Wait three, euthanasia of animals.

Now guns are just a big boy toy, they don't come out except at the range. But I'm a city slicker now.

That being said, I've got several friends out in the country (miles and miles between homes) and they feel a gun is the best means for their immediate protection. I'm not going to fault them after hearing stories they have told.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem

I grew up in Phoenix. It is a much more crowded place now. I used to hunt doves in the corn fields at 43rd Avenue and McDowell. We used to target practice north of 43rd Avenue and Bell Rd. I moved away because I was tired of living in a shopping mall.

I was born and grew up in Lisbon, Portugal, Europe.
The only kind of gun I ever had were squirt guns.

When guns are not for sale at any corner shop, the fear that you may be assaulted by someone with a gun isn't that great. With that absence of fear, the perceived need to own a gun for protection is also pretty low.
Maybe this is a European luxury, as you guys keep snowballing the problem on that side of the pond. I keep inviting you guys to come over to the better continent... Sure, we have our problems, too... But i never said it was perfect, here. Tongue

Aren't you an old white person from Arizona? I'm going to throw out a guess that you don't live in a Mexican neighborhood either.

I don't think of myself as old.  Merely chronologically-challenged.

It's a fairly diverse neighborhood judging from watching the school buses unload.  My landscaper is Mexican.  Great guy.  Very hard worker.  You know, we frequently get flyers in the door for other landscaping companies.  Names like Lopez, Garcia, Gonzalez, and so on.  Never got one yet from a company called Smith and Jones proudly proclaiming they were American citizens.  Funny, huh?

I think you're lying, Min. Clearly (according to Capn), you can't live near Mexicans without being armed to the teeth. I'm betting that when you talk to your alleged 'landscaper', you do you with a flamethrower pointed at his face just he case he suddenly decides to go all Mexican-y.

What does going all Mexican-y mean?  Suddenly laying down to take a nap in the dirt?

Never seen him do that.

When I lived in AZ going Mexican meant going to Los Dos Molinos for a chili relleno burrito.
