Countries that are in Europe and want to trade with EU countries generally still have to accept and work with most of the trade regulations the EU writes, but they don't get a say in them.

Which is crucial and overlooked by many here. Even if there's some kind of association, Britain just lost it's voice. And that's a biggie, since Britain's voice was pretty loud, starting with Thatcher. Too loud for many of us, since others didn't get the same sweet deals, the UK got. It was cherry picking par excellence.

That's definetely over. Now it's put up and shut up. They got no vote, no veto, no influence on the decisions being made.
