(you may not be able to manually install a texturepack depending on your client version and mods, don;t worry about it, just set everything to low on a superflat - and I'd highly recomend FTB over Technic)
The forum post instructions looks incredibly easy. I've heard of FTB. I'll try it if you can throw a link my way.
