And, IMHO, that's part of the problem.  I understand the idea of herding cats, but if only we could cooperate a little more...

And who would subscribe to the values of the other, just to make a point? If these values are against everything they hold dear? Who would make that kind of compromise of adopting a stance that totally goes against their grain? Seems like a shitty deal if there ever was one.
