Yes, there are many Philippinos living and working abroad. In many countries for that matter. We would run short of nurses and orderlies if they were to leave, but it's not as if everyone of them is bound to leave their islands anytime soon because they lost all hope.
Then you are asking me for hard data on something for which no hard data can be provided. I mean how am I supposed to come up with any sort of data on how well someone fits into a particular society? You know you do that rather a lot. As for being well off enough to live a decent life, your average Filipino American exceeds the median standard of living in the US. From wikipedia:

So there you go. Though I think claims should be backed up with evidence, I'm pretty amazed that people would think that your average Filipino in the Philippians could possibly be better of then in the USA or other first world countries. Have you ever been to the third world for anything other then a first world style vacation?
