I spent the entire religious phase of my life there. In 8th grade, by the time my father was restationed to Maryland again, I'd been irreligious for two years. I liked it a lot. Still do. But I am also not a fan of hot weather so further north suits me better.
I was down there at the end of March this year and stayed with a friend in Mission Hills for a few days. Mostly 70's and 80's. Saw loads of great gardens plus the Anza Borrego Desert. I could definitely be happy there .. and was.
