The UK doesn't exactly have the history or current makeup that the US does.  When's the last time you saw a burning cross?  The last time you heard elected officials talk about lynching a nigger to their respected and public constituencies?  How good are you at politely talking down to minorities in a manner that makes them rightly fear for their life...and were you taught how to do so in childhood?

Those doctors of your's shouldn;t have -had- to overcome seemingly impossible odds.....that, right there, is the worst kind of racist shit.  "Stop complaining, these darkies rose above."..that's not a testimonial, it's a goddamned indictment.

I don't need to talk down to anyone. I, for one am an immigrant in Paris and just like other "immigrants", I have to do what I can in spite of the odds. I integrated straight away instead of choosing the easy option i.e. going to a group of anglo-saxons and staying with them. No, I went straight in and decided to work hard, because NO-ONE owes me a f'ing thing. If I want something, I am not going to complain, I am not going to blame the "privileged French", people for not having what they have. And, I feel that having 6 promotions in 7 years justifies the idea that if you work hard, you can get somewhere....
