That should be enough. Two more are welcome to join, but I'll cap it at twelve. 10 teams was perfect last year, but I do like the added challenge of a 12 team league.
My thoughts were the last weekend before the season starts, that way we can get all of the preseason injuries out of the way. The worst thing that can happen with drafting so early is that you draft a RB who tears his ACL or a WR whose QB goes down for the year in week 3 of the preseason.
So, either Saturday or Sunday afternoon/evening, the 3rd or 4th of September. That leaves a month and a half for people to figure out whether they can make it or not.
Those who cannot make the draft can set the autodraft order.
