In the presence of an omniscient god aren't all of the deaths, divorces, remarriages, ............... predestined? These poor schmucks had no chance/choice.

No. Not predestined. My foreknowledge that Alabama will win the NationalChampionship again this year does not denote predestination.

I've always found this issue interesting.

The best response I've had to brewer's question was that things aren't predestined but that God simply sees the paths that we can take -and of course knows beforehand what we will do- and lets us run.

Frankly that still sounds like, for all intents and purposes, predestination to me. An original answer was nice for a change though.
