Quote:By allowing God to guide usWhy? If we can guide ourselves, why need god's help? Plus, why follow something that most likely doesn't exist?
Quote:we show that we love and trust in Him.Can't trust any being that sends good people to hell. A being that has faulty logic and is contradictive in nature. Looks more like a puppet controlled by a delusional nut case.
Quote:That's where free will comes in. We have the choice between good and evil so that we aren't automatons in our decisions, and God guides us along the proper path.Good and evil are only concepts. Just like god. I do good and I have never believed in god. I have guided myself rather well, and without god. Why would I need a divine guide?
In nature there is no such thing as good and evil. There is only the natural. Humans are pattern seeking monkeys who have not yet mastered their imaginative abilities when it comes to self control over them and often find themselves overwhelmed by it. Pattern seeking primates like ourselves are so easily fooled. Even by our own thoughts. We can have a tricky time when it comes to differentiating between fantasy and reality. The scientific method helps to separate the two.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
