Buddy of mine (biology major) got a job, first, developing commercial agricultural growth hormones to build his lab experience...and transitioned from that to a research position synthesizing long chain polymers for use in solar panels as part of a review process of another's published work.
He said it was pretty easy to get a job (and ultimately create one) with a biology major...if you didn't mind selling your soul to the devil for a few years to demonstrate your proficiency in a high production lab environment, and viability as an income generator (big ag, lol).
