CIJS (thanks for clearing that up for me btw
)
This thread got deep. And dark. And real. And I love that there's some outlet for what we feel, these past few page posts especially as a good example. I love that we are mature enough to talk about what bothers--or haunts--us. To reach in, and pull out the darkness and sickness others have given us, takes strength, and courage. Because it's not healthy to hide it with a smile, like our last generation did --and the one before it and the one before that one. Humanity shows us again and again that suppressing that which hurts us inevitably consumes us. I have seen generational chains completely broken in my lifetime, and that is what gives me hope for the future. Humans have spent time documenting what each path and choice yields over time in every medium from books to movies and songs. Finally, we all have a voice and a platform. The reinforcement that we get by knowing we are not alone gives us strength. Sure, fighting isn't easy--but it's better than being stepped upon.
In the end the wrongdoers of this earth do get whats coming to them, I swear it. I've seen it with my own eyes, in nursing homes and through life experiences. Time eventually catches up to us all. And the mistakes we made do catch up with us one way or another. So, give your anger and fear and pain up to the sands of time. It's all we can do, and that's o.k.

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
