Your quote is also DEAD WRONG. I had a friend once, he killed himself. For many years I was VERY pissed at him for doing such a thing, but eventually I forgave him.
I dare you to tell me that I didnt forgive him.
To be angry is a natural reaction to something like this, and to forgive him for taking himself from you in such a way is for your mental health and he need not know that you forgave him. This forgiving helped you through your loss and that is a good thing. You probably felt betrayed by him and so you felt the need to forgive what you saw as a wrong against yourself. This is what God does.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
