Decided to try taking the long version and did get a slightly different result.  Mainly less anthropocentric.

So frustrating.  I made an account at imgur, loaded my screenshot and got this:   http://imgur.com/a/wXIjR
But it still doesn't post as the image with or without the [ img ]  or [ b ] tags.  Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong?

Because you posted the URL to the Imgur post, instead of the actual image. Right click the image once you've uploaded it and put it between the tags.
