Problem is my ability to understand often seems only as good as my shitty lack of ability to explain things. Because I often don't allow my brain to fully access information until I am capable of putting it into words. It's an O.C.D. thing I think. I also think it's something to do with the fact I'm not a visual person at all and I like to know why I understand things rather than to just understand them. I'm ambitious that way. And to know why or how I understand something, as far as I know the best way to do that is to be able to explain it to myself first (because I am unable to visualize it to myself)... and also then I am able to explain it to others.
However, overall, I'd say this is far more unhelpful than helpful to me. So it's a habit I am trying to break. When I break it -- and I am confident I will break it in time -- I am certain that it will do wonders for my mental health
