If the mind is not kept under control it become like a mad monkey that jump very fast from
tree to tree as if it is hunted and chased by a monster.
I think that by letting the conscious mind to rest she will surely be more able to extract more knowledge from the subconscious mind.
If your mind jumps "very fast" from topic to topic, you should see a doctor. That's not normal.
I didn't say that my mind..........jumps "very fast" from topic to topic......
I instead say that if it is not controlled it will do so.
By practicing yoga is all very easy to control the mind.

It is all relative yog.
By playing chess or do things that require a big mental effort you strain your mind.
If you instead use that mental strength to practice yoga meditation then a positive reward take place.
Quote:"Apart from the direct training that the Vinaya provides, it also establishes a relationship with lay people without whose co-operation it would be impossible to live as a monk. A monk is able to live as a mendicant because lay people respect the monastic conventions and are prepared to help to support him. " -- http://www.buddhanet.net/e-learning/budd...yguide.htm
The theory is one thing.
The practice a total different one.
I see Buddhists monks in Thailand that they smoke or eat non vegetarian food which is against Buddha teaching.
