Yeah, I've seen Death Note, and if people have related you to L, then that's almost a definite sign you may be on the spectrum. As long as nobody compares you to Light, then that's fine.

Yes Light represents a psychopath and L is more like an Aspie.

And yep, lots of decent people out there. An advice I give to myself (how arrogant) is to continue to avoid regularly toxic people in my life and stick only to the good people so I never forget that they do exist.

I really need to try and do that more. I despise ignoring people and that makes it hard.

By the way, people tend to conflate asperger's and narcissism due to certain superficially common features, but this guy really explains well the difference. It's not that people with Asperger's tend to lack compassion or whatever, but rather they struggle with realizing they need to manifest empathy when needed. I've had my girlfriend upset with me a bit too many times exactly because I was clueless with regards to showing her love at those times when she really needed it. Not because I was intending to be an asshole to her, but because it's sometimes a struggle for me to figure out on my own what the hell I'm supposed to do in certain cases (should I hug her out of nowhere? Or should I leave her be until she feels better?). Even though we've had a good talk about this at length, it's still a bit of a struggle for me.  Anyway, here's the video on asperger's vs narcissism:

I watched this recently actually. I'm definitely much more like the Aspie he describes and it explains why I can come across both as very empathetic and as very insensitive
