It's not cool to tar all country folk, hicks, rednecks, cowboys or your word of choice with the same brush. I'm from a rural town with a population 2,000 and if I weren't a starry-eyed teenager back in the day with dreams of living in Europe , I would probably also now be a hick, redneck or whatever word you want to use. Now I'm on the Left Coast and surrounded by Priuses and tree-huggers but I still care about my old friends who, yes, are hicks and rednecks. Yet they are hard-working salt-of-the-earth types who are doing the best they can to raise and support their families.
So instead of lumping all rural white folk together with uninformed Youtube videos, why don't you put the video down and talk to a few of them. You might be surprised.
