The closest thing I can come close to recommending is "The Battle For God" by Karen Armstrong, which is about the rise of fundamentalism in all three Abrahamic faiths. There are some interesting tidbits in there like the fact that Zionism was at first an entirely secular movement that was forbidden by religious Jews. There's a lot of name-dropping in it, though, and it's kind of hard to keep track of all the different people she mentions. Still, it's a good book, even though I felt she kind of glossed over Christianity compared to the other two.
