Just take the subway in the morning and count the times someone bumps into you or tries to run you over because you just don't matter on their way. Count the times someone actually holds the door when you're right behind them and don't let it slam into your face.
People in general don't care anymore. I never was big on manners but there are some things bothering me to no end. The small signs of people caring for each other or even taking note of someone else existing and not just being an obstacle in their way.
That certainly was different some 20 years ago.
Maybe you need to move. None of these happened to me today, last week, last month, .......... Of course, I don't take the subway so there is that. But no one cut me off in traffic, the cashiers all said hello, please and thank you, doors were held by me or others. I might need to appreciate hickville more.
