While I agree that religion is shrinking, I doubt it will become the minority in 20 years. I do know that the current younger generation is the least religious of any that's gone before, but I would be surprised if the country was 50/50 atheist to theist in 20 years. In the past 20 years the percentage of atheists in this country has only gone from some 10% to maybe around 15-20% today. The word "atheist" is still a dirty word in American society, so there may be a lot of closeted atheists out there who are afraid to be open about it, so the number could possibly be higher.
I am heartened by the fact that actual church-going Christians are such a low percentage of the total population, but I don't think we'll see Christians being a minority in our lifetimes. Sorry, but claims of clairvoyance aren't going to convince me otherwise. I'm as skeptical of ESP and clairvoyance as I am of religious beliefs.
