There's historical precedent, as I said. Not so long ago, something like that ran smack in the middle of Europe. I grew up virtually looking at it, since it was only 30 miles removed from my place of birth. It was called the Iron Curtain.
It's not outlandish, it just requires the shoot everything that moves approach and a lot of funds.
Call me naive, I guess. I thought we were past that kind of thing.
But honestly, the main reason I thought it couldn't happen was cost. The kind of wall he described was prohibitively expensive, and him threatening to make Mexico pay for it? lol. How? The US cannot afford it though.
Finish the fence? Yeah, I guess he might do that. But our southern border is a lot longer than the Iron Curtain, and has more natural barriers preventing full on wall building as well. It's not like it 1.5k miles of flat barren desert like some Trump supporters apparently think it is.
