Haha, yeah. Mami and Papi, meaning mom and dad. I worked at a Mexican restaurant once and all the Mexican kitchen dudes called the pretty girls "Mami".
What I think is funny is being called mami and mija by the same guy in the same conversation. This is also often just a cute word though. Guys from Mexico City call every woman mami
