My honest reason for disliking the idea of God

Well, that's simply a catch phrase. It really means "not guilty until proven guilty", as opposed to "guilty until proven not guilty".

In the same way, it's the sensible position to not believe in a god until it's been demonstrated to exist, instead of believing in it until it's been proven not to exist.

Science is pretty young and it might take many generations to detect something even close to God. Like supernatural phenomenons. That's why many people still take "leap of faith".
