You also mentioned external. Something external to our reality, if such a thing is coherent, would I imagine be impossible to detect. If we can reach it somehow, then it seems similarly pointless to label it "another reality".
I don't know what an eternal god is, except that it's presumably eternal. Unless you define it, you'll just find more and more stuff, and people will each say "yes that's a god / no it isn't". And it will continue to mean nothing.
Let's face it, anything real that ever gets found cannot be allowed to be a god. If it was, religion would end, as every theist utters a disappointed, "Oh".
The trick to god is making up whatever you want.
Do you think that even peaceful religions, which preach about the life of good deeds, shouldn't preach and just become mute to don't bother people and "starve themselves to death"?
