I didn't say they would be removing it. I said removing it from direct and unrestricted input into [the] free market.
The statement was that "The EU doesn't really need the UK". Demonstrably untrue. There are jobs, businesses and a myriad of other financial factors within the EU that will be directly negatively affected by almost any sort of Brexit. There already are, and it will continue until whatever is to be resolved is resolved. You only need look at the supply chain of any medium or even SME sized business that operates through the EU from the UK and vise versa to see it. I can only use a PLC 250 index company as a benchmark but I've seen the results directly already.
But I agree on the ludicrousness of it all. It is ludicrous, the entire thing is so pointless.
