When people on here say 'stop reading Brietbart' or 'Turn off Fox News' they are basically saying they don't like listening to opinions other then their own. Also, unlike most people, I'd much rather read opinions that I disagree with. How boring is it to only read your own opinion all the time? I already know what I believe, I don't have such a fragile ego or intellect that reading Brietbart or listening to Christian radio or whatever is going to do anything negative to me. People who say not to listen or read conservative news maybe don't have that much strength or resolve in their own opinions.
Lol, that's absurd. People don't say not to read Breitbart and watch Fox News because they don't like different opinions. They say to stay away from them because they often willfully manipulate statistics, tell half-truths and even outright lie to push a conservative narrative. Sure, every news source is going to get something wrong on both sides, but sources like Breitbart and Fox purposefully peddle bullshit to pander to conservatives. Hell, even the normally politically neutral Weather Channel had to come out and tell Breitbart to stop misusing what they say to spread lies. Anyone who is looking for a conservative viewpoint is much better off reading the Wall Street Journal or something like that. They don't have to make shit up.
It's funny. The liberal news sources will give liberal interpretations of stories and push a liberal narrative by selecting what they report, and I'm sure they're even guilty of reporting half-truths sometimes. The conservative sources like Breitbart, Drudge Report, Fox News and Infowars stoop to outright lying and manipulating statistics to push their narrative. It's almost as if they're trying to prove that you can't push the hard-right view without being dishonest.
Lol yes. Should I inform myself with all bullshit sources? They're not all equal. I'm not going to waste time reading what Conservapedia thinks after reading a Wikipedia article.
“All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated and well supported in logic and argument than others.”
