I suppose you would have to see the documentary. These guys have been pretty open about everything they do and they were not shy about talking about and displaying Novak's addiction. No one hid Steve-O's drug and alcohol battles. I doubt any problems Ryan had could have been hidden from the public, nor would they have bothered. It is not as if using drugs is any more shameful than shoving a toy car up your ass. Also, Dunn grew up in a different town than Novak. Novak moved to Pennsylvania and started hanging out with Bam because they were both skateboarders. Dunn was Bam's best friend, so he also hung out with Novak. Sure, drug users hang out with drug users, but they also hang out with people who have similar interests and old friends. I have a shit ton of friends who use drugs and I don't.
My point is that people are going to presume a lot of shit, when the only clear thing about this is that he was speeding. Why jump on the drug and drunk bandwagon when no one has any idea if that shit was happening. I can only say that it was unlikely heavy drugs were involved, based on lack of evidence of that nature. They have been videotaping every fucking thing they do since they were like 14 or younger. I started watching the CKY videos and Bam's skate videos when I was about 18. In hours upon hours of footage, I saw evidence that some of them drank heavy and did drugs. Why would they publicize it for some and not others?
Disclaimer: None of this is to say that he definitely didn't do drugs or at least dabble in them. I am only pointing out that he didn't appear to have a major drug problem, so there seems to be no reason to assume drugs were involved.
