Did you say something to the editor (or others) before you found out that it was "revisited" and not "rewritten"? If you did and it was not a good interaction, explain the situation and work it out.
As for coming out as blind, do what makes you comfortable. BTW, blindness is never an excuse, it's a condition. There should be no negative associations.
