Mostly because it's annoying and I feel like when a lot of people use the "new posts" search to find threads, they should be at least aware of what the thread is about before they click on it. Mobile usage for the site is continually growing, so that also potentially saves data for people. The other reason is just the principle of the thing; this is a discussion forum, people should be creating descriptive thread subjects rather than splitting the subject up.
Honestly having funny / random subjects isn't that much of a big deal to me, but purposefully splitting them up like this is just annoying:
Subject: Trump says he will investigate...
First line of post: ...voter fraud nationally.
Like, what's the point of splitting up the subject like that? It looks awful, is *definitely* clickbaity, and serves no actual purpose for a discussion.
