That's the real way to do it The problem with that is having the time to do it, and the money. Hence the point of the definitely inferior tinned goods.
I just can't accept that a condensed soup has a real purpose if you're buying soup tinned to begin with. It bothers me: just how impoverished do you have to be to make it acceptable?
