And yet again, the only source of information we have to go on is, in this case, "she says". I'm not saying she's lying, necessarily, but equally I can't say she's being truthful either. There is literally zero information.

This.  Remember that "personal experiences" are only evidence to those who had the experienced and those so inclined to believe/accept without questioning.  That's the whole "faith" thing.

To the rest of us it's an story.  Much the same way as claims by alien abductees would likely just be a story to you.
