A proper departure from the European Union is not likely to happen. I get the feeling that May and her friends will stab us in the back by eventually settling for a 'soft' Brexit and we don't really have the right attitude in the UK for standing up to governments that mess us about.
It is absolutely tragic to be honest with you but that's how it is. I would be pleasantly surprised if a 'hard' Brexit does happen but I remain pessimistic.
You are right to be sceptical about what politicians promise but in this case both May and the European Union want a hard Brexit.
That's why the UK is screwed.
Actually I want a hard Brexit too. I want it to really hurt sooner rather than later. That will mean that the UK is more likely to come back to the EU once the baby boomers die off rather than people getting used to the pain over time. I don't want to see the UK become a vassal state of the US.
